Total Hardness. Total Harness is the amount of calcium and magnesium in your water. Maintaining a proper level will help eliminate the corrosion or scaling of your equipment.

Total Chlorine. Knowing your Total Chlorine level will help you determine when to shock (when compared to the Free Chlorine level.)

Free Chlorine. Free Chlorine is chlorine that is still able to sanitize your water. A proper level will help keep your water sparkling clean and clear.
